Free Pro for Students
Studying engineering, architecture or construction? Get WebStructural Pro free for a year with your school (.edu) email.
How to get it
- Create an account with your school email. It has to end in .edu.
- Verify the address. Click the link in the email we send you.
- Email us from that address. Send a note to jeff@webstructural.com and we'll turn on Pro.
No credit card. Pro ends on its own after a year and your account goes back to the free plan, so you're never charged. Your saved designs stay in your account either way.
What Pro adds
Every calculator is free to use without an account. Pro adds:
- Saved designs, organized in folders, so a semester project or a design studio set stays in one place.
- Printed and PDF reports you can hand in, with the inputs, the code checks and the equations used.
- One PDF for a whole folder of beams, columns, footings or anchor bolts.
- More than two spans in the beam designer.
- Engineered lumber and built-up members: multi-ply lumber, glulam, laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and parallel strand lumber (PSL).
Good for coursework
The tools show their work. Each check names the code section and equation it uses, so you can follow the steps and compare them with your hand calculations.
- Shear and moment diagrams for statics and mechanics of materials.
- Shape calculator for area, centroid and moment of inertia.
- Frame designer for 2D frames, with load combinations and second-order analysis.
- Beam and column design in steel (AISC 360) and wood (NDS).
